We wouldn’t know who to trust and what to expect from others as social life wouldn’t be possible. Some examples of duties are that you can’t make a false promise, you can’t commit suicide out of self-love, you can’t squander your own talents, and you must help others. The good will is the only thing good in itself as it’s the will that drives our actions and grounds from the intention of our act and it will be good when it acts from duty. I agree with Kant because when you have moral value, it intends to protect and respect life and make life better for everyone. We must treat others as we want to be treated and always do the right things in life. If morality didn’t exist, then we would possibly make each other’s lives miserable and we also wouldn’t perform the duties provided as we wouldn’t have the good will and I understand we are living in a cruel society, but at the end of the day, we just have to be ourselves and stay humble as we can still win the respect of others.
